How long have you been at Spenga?
I joined SPENGA as a member in April of 2021. My whole life I have loved any form of physical activity. I did tennis, competitive dance, and track in high school. In college I was a part of the powerlifting club and did bodybuilding- lifting, yoga, running, etc. on the side. I tried SPENGA because it was 5 minutes from my house, and like I said earlier, I am happiest when moving my body. I knew before even trying SPENGA I would love it! Before SPENGA, I wasn’t a “workout class” girl. I enjoyed my alone time at the gym and getting a good lift in, but I would spend SO MUCH time there. SPENGA allowed me to get an amazing workout with all of my favorite things: cardio, strength, and stretching; in only an hour! I was in and out and feeling better than ever! I started working the front desk in Feb. 2022, on top of my full time job at GE Aerospace, because I loved being there so much. Then, in November of 2022 I got the opportunity to audition and become an instructor and I couldn’t pass it up! I finally got to live out my passion for fitness and help others <3!
My favorite part of working at SPENGA?
The community we have created! I moved to Cincinnati barely knowing anyone, and have made so many great connections, friends, and friends that are now like family! It truly is the best group of people who genuinely care for one another, their journey in fitness, and life in general!
Favorite format?
I love them all, but IGNITE gives a little bit of everything! It is 4 rounds, 3 exercises each round, 2 exercises are strength based and 1 exercise is cardio! You are lifting heavy and still getting your heart rate up!
What made you get involved in fitness or instructing?
I have had a HUGE passion for fitness and health since middle school. After puberty, I struggled with eating disorders and my physical appearance, so the gym was the only place that brought me the most peace! It was my safe haven and still is! Each day I love working on becoming the best version of myself through fitness both physically and mentally. I can talk for hours and hours about all things health and fitness. It has made me who I am today.
Where can I be found?
In the gym :-)! I am always finding ways to MOVE my body. Whether that is lifting at the gym, taking a SPENGA session, walking my dog, doing hot yoga, playing tennis, etc. I am happiest when I am MOVING! However, if I am not working out, I am at my full time job at GE Aerospace or spending time with my fiancé and dog (Cannoli) at home! I love reading, watching movies, coloring, and traveling! If I’m not doing any of those above, hopefully I’m on a beach somewhere soaking up the sun :-)!!
After a workout?
I refuel with a protein shake and an easily digestible carb source (usually a fruit)! Then I RUN to the shower because I’m usually soaked in sweat! I am a big sweater!!!
My guilty pleasures?
CHOCOLATE!! And anything sweet! I have a huge sweet tooth! Desserts are 100% my weakness. I love ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, cookie dough, brownies… just to name a few. However, I do crave some Italian homemade favorites, such as: pizza, pasta, garlic bread, gnocchi’s, etc. I love my Italian food!
Songs that get me hyped?
This is a very unpopular opinion but COUNTRY music! I love my Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen. However, in my sessions I LOVE playing early 2000’s R&B or anything you can dance to! Recently, I have been creating themes for each session to spice things up for the members! I have done: JB vs. JT, Michael J. vs. Queen, Movie Hits, One Hit Wonders, and more!
